Flower of the city: Chrysanthemum “Kiku (chrysanthemum)” are the first two syllables of “Kikugawa,” the name of a river, which the city was named after. There are various kinds of chrysanthemums, ranging from large-flowered to floret chrysanthemums. Chrysanthemums, which are beautiful, clean, and elegant, are planted by many people at home. Kikugawa City has designated the chrysanthemum as the symbolic flower of the city in the hope that people will love our city in the way they cherish chrysanthemums |

Tree of the city: Tea tree Tea is a specialty of Kikugawa City. Also, Kikugawa City is the birthplace of “deep steamed tea.” Every year, the whole city shines “light green” during the harvesting season of tealeaves. Tea trees best match with the city’s future vision, “Green New Generation.” Therefore we have designated tea as the symbolic tree of the city in the hope that our city will develop into a city with a lot of greenery.
